Biological research is a sector of Mothership Zeta.
Background[]
This section is devoted to the aliens unusual experiments dealing with biology (like organisms of distant planets). This is the area that abominations - grotesque human-alien hybrids - were created.
Layout[]
The biological research is located between the experimentation lab and the bridge. The area contains two (sometimes three) abominations in the first chamber, an alien worker in the second and maybe a couple hostile aliens with guns. There are dead aliens lying around, which were probably killed by the escaped abominations. You can loot their corpses for alien atomizers and disintegrators. In the second chamber are three transport matrices, one leading to the observation deck, one to the Bridge and one to the death ray hub. You must activate the transporter to the observation deck to allow the other survivors through. The teleporter to the bridge is shut down and you must go to the death ray hub to continue your mission.
Notable loot[]
- Alien captive recorded log 18
- Some alien power cells located near the entrance to bridge.
Notes[]
- This is one of many areas of the ship that will not be accessible after the player has completed the main (This Galaxy Ain't Big Enough...) quest.
- Players gathering Alien captive recorded logs should check that they've collected 24 out of 25 of them before proceeding to the death ray hub. This will be the player's final opportunity to locate and collect missing recordings. When teleporting into the death ray hub, the teleporter will break.
Appearances[]
Biological research only appears in the Fallout 3 add-on Mothership Zeta.
Bugs[]
- For some unknown reason you cannot go through the teleporters. This can be fixed by rebooting the game.
- When you enter the second area (the southeastern most room) of biological research you will notice 2 alien workers trying to hide from you. If you kill the aliens, open the door with the switch in that room, drag the alien corpses in the open doorway of the door you just opened and turn it on, it will either shoot the aliens across the room or suck them up to the top of the doorway and they will stay there even if you turn the door back off again.
