The bear trap fist is a weapon in the Fallout: New Vegas add on Dead Money.

Characteristics[]

The bear trap fist is an Unarmed weapon, worn much like a power fist. The jaws of the trap are folded back past the normal open position, exposing the pressure plate. When a punch connects, the pressure plate makes contact with the target causing the trap to snap shut. This weapon does bonus damage to an opponent's limbs. Strangely, the bear trap resets itself with no aid from the wearer.

Modifications[]

Locations[]

The bear trap fist can only be found in the Sierra Madre. The weapon is used primarily by the ghost trappers, and can be looted from their corpses.

Notes[]

  • The bonus limb damage caused by the bear trap fist proves very effective when fighting the ghost people of the Sierra Madre, who are instantly killed when their limbs are crippled.
  • The weapon appears somewhat smaller when equipped by ghost trappers.
  • It also differs in appearance from the bear trap placed as an actual trap on the ground, the weapon version being much smaller with more teeth.
