Bear Necessities[1] is an unmarked quest in Fallout: New Vegas.
Walkthrough[]
Talk to Lindsay, who can be found wandering around the base with a group of children, and she laments that her teddy bear, Mr. Cuddles, is lost. Head into the hangar where Loyal and Jack spend most of their time. There will be a large circle of crates next to the benches near the entrance. Walk around these and look through the corners until you find Mr. Cuddles. Take him back to Lindsay (she could be in one of the living barracks or in the schoolhouse) and speak to her. At this point you have the option to lie and say Mr. Cuddles is dead (with a Speech check of 60) which results in bad Karma and Boomer infamy or just give her the bear which results in Boomer fame.
Behind the scenes[]
The name of the quest "Bear Necessities" is likely a reference to the Disney song, "The Bare Necessities", performed in the movie "The Jungle Book" by Baloo the Bear (Phil Harris) and Mowgli (Bruce Reitherman).[2]
Bugs[]
- Even after you have given Mr. Cuddles to her, she still will greet you asking if you have found the bear this allows you to complete the mission both ways so you can get the experience and not loose/gain any infamy.
