Bear Force One is the presidential Vertibird of the New California Republic.[1]

Background[]

Bear Force One is a VB-02 Vertibird that serves as the private transport of the President of the New California Republic. To distinguish it, it has a green/white paint scheme (top to bottom) and the emblem of the NCR, the Bear and Star, placed on the sides of the canopy.

Like other gunship type Vertibirds, it is heavily armored, equipped with heavy weapons, and very fast. However, the flight control computer aboard Bear Force One is currently experiencing some minor malfunctions though a simple update by Republic engineers and technicians should more than fix the problem.[2]

Characteristics[]

It only appears during the quests You'll Know It When It Happens and Arizona Killer, flying in over the north-western ridge at Hoover Dam. Drawing a weapon to attack it will provoke immediate and extreme retaliation from NCR troops in the vicinity.

The Vertibird has 600 hit points, and will require several high-damage conventional attacks to destroy. Once it has 80 HP or less, it will catch fire and take 5 points of damage every second.

Behind the scenes[]

  • If you activate the Vertibird before the engineer goes near it, it will be titled "PresidentalQuoted verbatim, error appeared in the original sourceIcon sic Vertibird".
  • "Bear Force One" is a pun reference to the U.S. Presidential airplane "Air Force One" and the two-headed bear symbol of the NCR.
