The arc welder is a weapon in Lonesome Road.
Background[]
This large industrial power tool was once used for welding, by creating an electric arc between an electrode and the base material. The heat of the discharge would weld metals together. After the Great War, arc welders mostly fell into disuse, as survivors had little need for tools that required plenty of scarce electricity. These welders were modified for combat use, their back-mounted power supplies fueled by electron charge packs and the output modified to damage any kind of target.
Characteristics[]
The weapon does increased damage against robotic targets and enemies wearing power armor. However, it has a short range, comparable to that of the flamethrower.
