Ant mound is a location in Fallout: New Vegas, located directly south of Allied Technologies Offices and northwest of REPCONN Headquarters.
Background[]
This once prosperous and fertile plain between the outskirts of New Vegas and the rugged desert terrain is now devoid of crops. This farm in particular was taken by a colony of fire ants.[1]
Layout[]
Hidden within a derelict barn in the middle of a desolate farm is a fire ant mound. The ants prowl the nearby area, killing and feasting on whatever crosses their path, including brahmin left in the corrals when the owners of the farm fled and raiders. There is little in the way of loot in the area, except for a variety of containers hidden in the barn attic, including two metal boxes, two toolboxes, a footlocker, a grenade box, and an ammo box.
The mound itself is a winding tunnel that terminates in a cave inhabited by the fire ant queen, usually with a warrior or two for company. There are also two freshly killed wastelanders ripe for the picking and some refuse piles with ant nectar inside.
Appearances[]
Ant mound appears only in Fallout: New Vegas.

A once-fertile plain between the outskirts of New Vegas and the rugged desert terrain is now devoid of crops. Beware of Fiends heading down from the McCarran airstrip to the north, close to the Allied Technologies Officers [2.30], but a bigger concern are the Giant Fire Ants scuttling out of their mound, inside an old barn."
