It is a strange worm-like creature served on a metal tray, that is used by the aliens as a food source. Alien worm food replenishes a very minor amount of health, so it is seemingly a "poor" consumable to regain lost health, when compared to other health restoration consumable items. However, since the food is weightless, a huge amount can be carried without fear of being weighed down.
