Alien blaster is an alien weapon in Fallout and Fallout 2.

Characteristics[]

The following section is transcluded from Alien blaster. To modify, please edit the source page.

A special alien blaster with a different design and color compared to others alien weapons and using small energy cells, which could indicate that this a weapon prototype was to avoid having to replenish alien power cell in Earth. It shoots a purple electric bolt and is particularly devastating as a close range weapon.

Gameplay attributes[]

The alien blaster remains a top of the line energy handgun, offering devastating performance against any target, since Electrical resistance of enemies is usually low, even in the Enclave. It is extremely fast to fire (3 AP with Bonus Rate of Fire, just 2 with Fast Shot and the aforementioned perk) and has a very generous ammo capacity. If found, it is likely to be the mainstay of a player's energy weapons build, alongside the YK42B pulse rifle.

Locations[]

  • Willy: Found in a random encounter north of Modoc, Willy will offer the player a weapon to purchase. It is randomly selected from a list of potential weapons and the player is not informed of the actual weapon they purchase. In order to be able to buy an alien blaster, the player has to be at least level 13, the game has to select the right weapon during a roll, and the player has to pass a Luck check or else the result is rerolled. The price is base value multiplied by 11-Luck (of the player character, of course). At 10 Luck, Willy will ask $10,000 for the blaster. It is possible to find out what Willy is selling by using Steal skill on him, but not taking anything.
  • Control station Enclave: In the maze, a randomly selected terminal will contain goodies. The player can use Repair on the terminal and, after passing a Science check, retrieve the package. In order to gain the alien blaster, Speech must be over 100% and higher than Science, Repair, Gambling, Outdoorsman, Throwing, First Aid, Doctor, or Traps.
