Absinthe is a consumable item in Fallout: New Vegas.
Characteristics[]
Absinthe is a green, highly alcoholic beverage derived from wormwood, fennel, aniseed and other herbs. Absinthe is an addictive drink which when consumed provides a minor status boost - increasing Charisma and Perception by one while reducing Intelligence by one. It also has a higher chance of addiction, compared to similar alcoholic drinks.
As with most alcoholic item in Fallout: New Vegas, absinthe's effects (both positive and negative) are altered by the player's Survival skill. With a Survival skill of 100 the player will receive +3 to Charisma and Perception and -3 to Intelligence.
In hardcore mode, absinthe will increase the player's level of dehydration. This effect is also affected by the Survival skill, ranging from +20 at lower levels to +60 at 100 Survival skill.
Absinthe does not stack its effects separately from other alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine etc. (with the exception of Dixon's whiskey and moonshine), despite the fact that it does have slightly different effects (+1 Perception instead of +1 Strength).
Effects of Survival skill[]
