.50 caliber round is an ammunition type in Fallout 4.
Background[]
First introduced into service in 1921, the .50 MG round has served with distinction, used as ammunition for heavy machine guns and anti-materiel rifles alike. The availability of a number of specialized cartridge types ensures that a weapon using this ammunition can be adapted for a number of tactical purposes.
Characteristics[]
.50 caliber ammunition is rather rare in the wasteland given its use in military grade machine guns and rifles. This cartridge is capable of generating up to 3-4 kilojoules of energy, which is more than enough to penetrate most body armor and completely obliterate fleshy targets.
